I ’m a Baby Boomer and am say that just as we change the work environment as we entered it , we ’re now change the nature of retreat and ageing . So , have you noticed that you’re able to now go into most big - box hardware computer memory and find hardware to make it safer to talk terms the DoI of your home ? item such as grab bar , step - in tub bathtub , stool tooshie risers , and pull - out kitchen shelves are uncommitted off the ledge without extra order . This might be some indication of the consumer - purchasing power of my generation as we age .
So many of us Boomers live in suburban urban sprawl , though . We have homes pose on some parcel or multiple of a landscaped acre . We have bushes to trim back and garden to run . How do we continue to do these tasks as we age ? Exercise is good , and few of us are ready to hire out all our landscaping tasks . I ’ve comment that lawn mower now have electrical plug - in starters to make it easier to set about them . Many of the motorized tools for landscape gardening now come in all - electric version rather than just gasoline - motored variation that are a lot gruelling . I ’ve even check an galvanizing wood chipper for the backyard .
