A garden of contrasts
Today ’s photos number from Lori Fowler , senior gardener at the Gorge Power House in Newhalem , Washington .
This is such a unequaled surround . Newhalem is nestle along the Skagit River and is a company Ithiel Town located in the purple North Cascade National Park . With several historic garden and acres of lifelike land to maintain and revitalize , my projects are many and diverse .
I create these basket to apparel up the visitant entry . I just love the juxtaposition of natural forest dish and the severe concrete and manmade major power . I used the “ electric ” color pallet as a play on the Powerhouse location .

A flower box at the Skagit General Store . Brightly colored annual make a ardent colouring scheme .
Another flower box at the Skagit General Store . This one trust mostly on perennials and shrubs for color , or else of annuals . When it comes to container figure , you are only limited by your creativeness , and containers are a great home to try out out combinations before committing to them in the garden .
And a third flower box at the Skagit General Store , this one immix yearly and perennials and blending chickenhearted and white for a coolheaded , refreshing composition .

One more flower boxwood at the Skagit General Store . This is such an inspiring design , and I have it away how much of the color come from the creative economic consumption of leafage rather than flowers .
The Gorge Power House observation tower . What a magical blank !
More from the Gorge Power House picket . Majestic rocks are wrapped in witching mist .

And one last view of the Gorge Power House spotter . I love the bright orange bench ! Sometimes coloring material come from flower , sometimes from foliage , and sometimes from the clever use of paint .
