Palm trees, succulents and tropical blooms put on a sizzling display for a front entrance
Hi GPODers !
Yesterday I mentioned have it off the variety in garden that we see in Garden Photo of the Day , but there was an element that I did n’t really relate on and that is the gardeners themselves . While the different plant , intent and dash are all a joy to see and look up to , it really is the gardeners themselves and the unlike overture they take to the land they tend that allows for all these unparalleled spaces and perspectives .
This is particularly patent in the submissions I receive . Some members of GPOD send drawn-out paragraphs about their garden , their experience , and what exercise with plant means to them . Others institutionalise small to no data and simply want to show off their striking designs . Today ’s submission is the latter , Betty Torres sent a masses of stunning photos of her incredible front garden full of lush , tropical plants … but not much information on where she gardens or how she created these stunning bed . But no worries here , while I am scratch to learn more , Betty ’s beautiful garden speaks for itself .

Right out , my mind is traveling to Florida or somewhere similar with these unbelievable jelly palms ( Butia odorata , Zones 8–10 ) deplume full attention , even next to radiant canna . As an esurient Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree lover , anything with fabulous foliage and interesting grain is going to get my eye .
But as you get a little closer , the finer details of this gravel bed come to living .
This incredible design of white crushed stone “ spilling ” out from a terra cotta Mary Jane is so fun and creative . Just like the garden construction and art we add to our gardens , there are no rules to how textile must be use . The ability to create shapes , patterns , and combinations is not limited to the industrial plant we farm .

Though , Betty is n’t letting her undercoat masking do all the sound lifting . A bright reddened genus Celosia is cover in it ’s captivating , feathery plumes and ColorBlaze ® Dipt in Wine coleus ( flame nettle scutellarioides‘Dipt in Wine’,Zones 10–11 or as an annual ) is doing double - duty with its colorful foliage and spire of linden tree - green flower .
Another pretty palm tree , this one might be a ribbon palm ( Livistona decora , Zones 9–11 ) . dismal in advance for any palm misidentification ! While I wonder at these tropical wonders , getting a proper ID can be slippery .
I can , however , key this adorable Whirlwind ® white fan flower ( Scaevolaaemula‘Bomy Whit’,Zones 10–11 or as an annual ) and even more precious tulista succulent growing on both side of meat ( Tulista minor , Zones 9–11 ) .

Not all of Betty ’s plant life are define to the warmest climates , this Pink Drift ® groundcover prove ( Rosa‘Meijocos’,Zones 4–11 ) brings a dad of tropic color to a all-inclusive range of garden .
But the tropical tone is never far behind .. this bottom with a wonderful water backcloth is the epitome of a profuse , tropical oasis .
And a ending up from another view reveal this incredible curcuma — potentiallyCurcuma sessilis , zone 8–11 — with the most lush gradient of orange to pink petal .

Finally , sneezeweeds are always champions in a full - sunshine garden , but they are absolutely glow amongst all of this bright , lush foliage .
Thank you for share your gorgeous gardens with us , Betty !
