In fact , we have used it create much of the furniture in our home . That includes a   kitchen island , vintage hutch , privy vanity cabinet , wine rack , and even a Gallus gallus cage !

Shiplap is   3/4″ thick pine wood that can be purchase unremarkably as gameboard ranging from 6″ to 10″ wide . The surface can be fluid ( planed ) , rough sawn , or with one side of each .

With a across-the-board open living space in the menage , we demand to descend up with a depot solution that fit the interior decoration .

So we turned to shiplap to create our Blanket /TV hutch .

We used basic 2 x 4 ’s to create the systema skeletale , then enclose the piece with rasping - sawn shiplap . We used the liquid side of the shiplap to create the door and a ledge inside the cabinet .

To land up , we sum up hinge , a lively edge piece of cherry for the top , and stained to match the room .

This piece will be wrap up in an upcoming DIY article , and was a huge savings to our home construction budget ! We draw up our large 7′ x 3′ kitchen island from 2 x 4 ’s .

Using locker grad plywood – we covered the interior of the physical body and portion off into 4 great and deep shelf .

We then treat the exterior with , rough - sawn shiplap , and made sliding   doors for the side facing the kitchen . To attach the sliding doors , we used cheap closet hardware .

We then covered it with a quartz countertop to match the piece to the remainder of the kitchen . The price listed is for the concluded island construction only , not the countertop .

What do you do when you have some remnant shiplap ? Why not build a little crybaby hencoop !

Ever since creating our program for our large and mid - sized coop , we are often involve by proofreader to come up with a small backyard coop interlingual rendition that could hold 2 to 4 chickens .

So , with some left - over shiplap from our house project , we drop a slight time to create this little shiplap volaille coop . We will have this featured in an upcoming stake , and make the plans usable as well . I have to say , it might have been our favorite thing to build !
