harvesting time of year is full flack mighty now . start out with our Home Grown New Mexico ‘ Jam On ’ class where we made a Strawberry - balsamy jam and a marvellous Blueberry jam .
Then the grapes ripened - ate lashings and dry out some into raisin for later .
The cucumber ripened so tight I was make lots of pickles . First I made bread and butter pickles , then cornichon pickles and then dill pickles - carbon black , icebox and sack . Must have about 30 jars+ and now the 5 gallon carbon black is full where I am fermenting some with common salt brine . After I was bored with pickles , I made some sweet-flavored pickle relish which I have n’t tasted yet . Will in all probability make more of that with the giant cucumbers I miss when looking for small ones . So far I ’ve made mess with Jody , Nick and Elodie .

Then I bought 20 lb of peaches from the Farmer ’s Market and Mernie and I made 3 different peach jams .
Now the tomatoes are issue forth in and I ’m starting to make the raw tomato plant sauce that I freeze in Imperial gallon plastic freezer bags . later on in November after I recover from harvesting , I will take them out of the deep-freeze and make different alimentary paste sauces like puttenesca , marinara , penne alla vodka and good ole spaghetti sauce .

Soon I will harvest potatoes too .
and we will harvest honey from the bee beehive .
Of course then there is all I take to the Farmer ’s Market that I glean every week - tomato , eggplant , shishito white pepper , beans , tomatillos and sometimes rhubarb , kale and chard when I have the room on the table . Phew ! officious time of year !

The good part of it all is I have n’t bought any vegetable in the storage since other July and I ’ll have a full pantry for winter when harvest time season is done .
