Let ’s be middling , I had absolutely no interestingness in the “ home ” part of the show . I came for “ garden ” and it was a act of a tough sell considering I was just at thegreatest garden show on earth ! That being said , there were a few things that I loved at the BC Home and Garden Show that I did n’t get to see at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show .
Western Independent Greenhouses
If you have n’t been toW.I.G. , GO ! Well , you will have to wait for them to open up for the class , but when they do … GO ! They have the most amazing succulent and their container display are 2d to none .
Clean Line Garden Design
There was some beautiful landscape gardening on presentation like this pattern invigorate by a recent trip-up to Bali .
And these fabulous concrete and wood benches . I sleep with the expression of them but for my own home plate I definitely choose the comfort of ahammock !
Harmony with the Hardscaping
There were a number of display that showcased a strong focus on implant alone parts of the hardscape . I think the symmetry of moderate up various structures – like these rock steps – added interest and harmony .
Fire & Water
There were fire feature galore at the show but none got the prescribed “ awful ” rating from Mr. Garden Therapy except this one . A gas flack note come up through an outdoor pool . Yeah , that ’s middling coolheaded .
false Snow
Ugh . I saw this for the first fourth dimension at the nurseries this winter . Someone is smothering live plants with fake snow ! It must be stopped hoi polloi . talk of the town aboutCrimes Against Horticulture .
Fake Lawn
I have a acquaintance who had this horrible plastic bogus lawn installed a few houses down from her . She move . OK , so it was n’t the only factor in the decision , but talk about a neighbourhood on the diminution . You do n’t want to deal with high sustentation pasturage ? No problem … there is amiriad of alternative lawn replacement optionsthat do n’t involve sheets of hairy green charge card . Friends do n’t let admirer install bogus lawns .
Crap Vendors
The biggest misfire of the show was the abhorrent roll pathway through Irish bull vendors to get to the show floor . I intend this oxen herding experience charter me by ostensibly endless booths with mike - wearing sales people trying to draw you in to buy the latest junk . Sure , some mass have it away that stuff , but I felt like I was live on a late night infomercial incubus and could n’t escape . I feel bad for the legitimate vendors selling quality intersection who had to get lump in with the crap . Without a headset or a “ special show offer ” they just may not have been able to break through the masses of clutter of check bagful clip , nail artistry , and jewelry cleaners .
