In a Vase on Monday. Pretty in Pink
As my vase last workweek was all about pep and marmalade , I thought this week should be pinkish , specially as the garden is full of pink roses . Some of these were already here and others I have constitute . The prominent garden pink rose on the left hand is ‘ Karlsruhe ’ , a modern climber with an onetime fashioned shape . It climbs up a yew tree and see in force against the dark branches . I have quite a few David Austin roses and the large soft pinko rose wine , top right , is ‘ Gentle Hermione ’ . I love this rose because it is such a lovely colour , it has huge bloom and it is very firm and vigorous . Under it is ‘ The Generous Gardener ’ which is an excellent David Austin lift that I grow as a crampon . It is free flowering and very good for you . ‘ Anne Boleyn ’ is a like colour . The dark pink is the Bourbon ‘ Gypsy Boy ’ .
The other flowers are aDeutzia crenata‘Pride of Rochester’,Mimulus‘Highland Pink ’ which grow by the pool . There is a pinkPenstemon:‘Just Jayne ’ and woolly silverStachys . The colouration of theThalictrumflowers matches those of theStachys . The tallLinaria purpureais utile in prime placement . It seeds around my garden very enthusiastically in both pinkish and purple . A pink June flower organisation has to have pinks in it . And I have added two tied ones .
Thank you to Cathy atramblinginthegardenfor hosting this popular meme . I am gradually come round to the idea of cutting my flowers , although only the copious ones . I could n’t institute myself to rationalise a peony . Perhaps next year I will make a cutting garden .

Meanwhile , summertime is here , the conditions is endearing and I must go outside and bring together the Pianist for some serious gardening . He might be reading the paper but I shall be ferment very hard planning the design of my clipping garden .

Beautiful – you may almost smell the roses . What is the bloom that expect like a picotee genus Dianthus in the upper right wing ?
A simply spectacular compendium of pinko ! I make out what you mean about waver to turn out anything you do n’t have in teemingness – I share the same reservations , although I did cut back one stem of my darling “ dingy rise up ” for today ’s bouquet . I ’m also considering a press cutting garden , which in my case means convert all or a component of my vegetable garden for that determination . So far , I ’ve just intersperse some helianthus seed among the vegetables .
