An assortment of early blooms
Today Bruce and Suzanne Pearce are sharing their garden with us .
We live in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia . Here are some photos of our spring garden .
Despite roses ’ repute for being finicky , these look implausibly happy and beautiful .

It ’s hard to beat these unbelievable view from the garden ! The hedge in the back of the garden provides shelter andprivacywithout obscuring the scenery beyond .
Here are several outpouring - bloom beauties , with daffodils ( Narcissushybrids , Zones 3–8 ) at the bottom , a xanthous tulip ( Tulipahybrid , Zones 3–8 ) at the top right , and several ranunculus ( Ranunculusasiaticus , Zones 7–10 or as an one-year ) at the top left .
This unusualdaffodilvariety with special petals in the center creates a full horn .

stratum of petals on this more - distinctive double - flowered Narcissus pseudonarcissus make an core almost more like that of a rose wine orcamelliathan a typical daffodil .

An unbelievable view is framed with springiness blooms , let in fragrant masses of lilac ( Syringavulgaris , Zones 5–7 ) .

The name “ iris ” come from the Grecian word for rainbow , and this image shows how apt that name is , with bloom coming in closely every color but reliable red , and often combining two or more semblance in a single efflorescence .
